Integrate Shelly 2.5 and 2PM into Homekit

Introduction

This article was created on the basis of a reader's message. So there is no long story in this post:)

Main part

Important information

This article deals with 2 different versions of the Shelly2. It is necessary to consider which version is used on site!
Furthermore, it is not possible to jump back to the original firmware. If the factory firmware is needed, a cable connection to the chip is necessary!

This contribution requires that the Shelly can be served in principle. Either the device is already integrated into the WLAN or a device is connected in the Shelly hotspot. It is important that the corresponding settings menu is accessible for the flash of the firmware.

The integration of Shelly into HomeKit is fast. To do this, the appropriate firmware for the respective model must be flashed, and then the basic configuration is performed. Shelly devices require different firmware versions, depending on which model is used. So make sure that the correct firmware is used!

The following is a list of which Shelly model needs which firmware:

Shelly 1, 1PM, 1L, Plug S, 2, 2.5, RGBW2, Dimmer 1, Dimmer 2, EM, Bulb, Vintage, Plug US, Duo, H & T, i3, Plug 2, Uni and Duo RGBW:

Under this link you can find a table with the corresponding files or URL templates where only the shell IP address must be entered. Note: This only works if the Shelly is in a WLAN network with Internet access.

Shelly Plus, Pro 1, Pro 2, Pro 2 PM, Pro 3, Pro 3 EM, Pro 4, Pro Dimmer, Mini (all with ESP32 or ESP32-C3 versions):

There are two firmware versions for some devices - one regular and one with the "_ old" prefix. If the flash process with the standard version does not work, please use the alternative version.

Once the appropriate firmware has been found, it will be found in the Shelly settings menu under Settings > Firmware Uploaded. The process can take up to 5 minutes. During this time, the Shelly must not become stressful to avoid a flash error.

When the firmware is installed, the Shelly will usually reopen an access point if the WiFis settings are reset. In this case, you must find the new access point and reperform the WLAN configuration. The standard address for the first device is: http: / / 192.168.4.1: 4567

In the next step, the WiFi-Access Point is again configured or - if the WiFi- settings have already been adopted - this is no longer necessary. The functionality must also be specified (e.g. shutter). Choose in the tab General Settings the appropriate function and saves the setting. Once the Shelly is configured according to your wishes, the HomeKitintegration in the tab can HomeKit The Commission will be able to:

First, a corresponding HomeKitcode must be generated or given by itself. If a separate code has to be assigned, it should be sufficiently complex - otherwise HomeKit will not accept the code.
Once this has happened, a new device can be added to the home app. To do this, the Plusicon is pressed in the Home App and "I have no code or can't scan" . Here the Shelly should be displayed in the device list so you can enter the code. After the message to uncertified devices has been clicked away, the Shelly should be successfully integrated into HomeKit.
